Prior to joining Austrade, Ian Halliday was Managing Director of Dairy Australia. Ian's expertise includes an extensive range of management roles with SPC, Goodman Fielder, Kraft Foods, KR Castlemaine and Vesco Foods.
At Vesco Foods and KR Castlemaine he was the CEO, responsible for leading transformational change at both organisations. At Kraft Foods, Ian was Director of Operations responsible for all manufacturing and supply chain activities for the Kraft Australia organisation. He was also responsible for all Kraft Australia Export business, most of which included sales into Asia and the Middle East.
- Ross Bray
Trade & Investment Commissioner, Counsellor (Commercial) to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt & Oman.
Ross heads the food and agribusiness initiative in the region, in addition to working with Australian exporters, investors and education institutions with an emphasis on extractive industries, infrastructure, education, agrifood and inwards investment to Australia.
Prior to this appointment, Ross was Austrade’s Senior Trade Commissioner to Myanmar from 2015-2017. He has also been Australia’s Senior Trade Commissioner in Manila covering the Philippines and Micronesia from 2007-2011 which included an ASEAN regional role for Food & Agribusiness. From 2004-2007, Ross was based in Suva as Trade Commissioner for Fiji and the Pacific Islands, assisting with Australian business development throughout the South Pacific.
- Kelly Matthews
Trade & Investment Commissioner, Abu Dhabi
Kelly leads the education and defence, advanced manufacturing and space agenda in the region. She has over 20 years in government and client facing roles and has worked in Jordan, Malaysia, Sweden and China.
Kelly also served as Trade Commissioner in Beijing and Kuala Lumpur.
- Mounir Sankary
Consul and Trade Commissioner, UAE
Mounir is responsible for the delivery of Australia’s business program around Expo 2020 Dubai. He also leads Austrade’s infrastructure sector in the Middle East Africa region.
Mounir has twelve years’ experience in both private and government sectors in MENA, recently in Austrade roles in Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar responsible for defence industry, and resources and energy. Prior to joining Austrade, Mounir was the head of international business for an infrastructure consultancy, worked in international private law and as client manager for the Queensland Government in the Middle East.
