Definitions

Business and Trade Tasmania means the Crown in Right of Tasmania as represented by the Department of State Growth through Business and Trade Tasmania.

You means any person or organisation who accesses the event calendar or registers online to receive emails and notifications from the event calendar.

Personal Information has the same meaning as in the Personal Information and Protection Act 2004 (Tas).

Services provided by the event calendar

Business and Trade Tasmania provides this calendar to list events that provide trade-related advice and assistance to businesses. These events are organised, sponsored or authorised by Tasmanian Government departments and agencies, including statutory authorities.

You can register on this site to save a shortlist of events, receive notifications of upcoming shortlisted events and receive notification of future events based on saved searches.

Events listed on the event calendar are sourced from a variety of public sources as deemed appropriate by Business and Trade Tasmania. All events published on the event calendar have been approved for inclusion by Business and Trade Tasmania.

Business and Trade Tasmania does not warrant the accuracy, adequacy, completeness or timeliness of the content on this website or any 3rd party linked website or resource. Business and Trade Tasmania takes no responsibility for any deliberate or inadvertent inaccuracies in event listings or any information contained within the calendar.

All information may be changed, supplemented, deleted or updated without notice at the sole discretion of Business and Trade Tasmania.

Business and Trade Tasmania disclaims all warranties, either express or implied, statutory or otherwise, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, non-infringement of third parties' rights, and fitness for a particular purpose.

Your use of the event calendar is at your sole risk and is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Business and Trade Tasmania does not warrant that the event calendar will meet your specific requirements.

Collection of Personal Information

Registration to the event calendar will require Personal Information to be provided.

Personal information provided to Business and Trade Tasmania will be managed in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act 2004. The Personal Information collected will be used by Business and Trade Tasmania for the purpose of registering the User to the calendar to receive event notifications and recommendations for calendar events via email.

Failure to provide this information may result in the User not being able to sign up to this calendar or records not being properly maintained. Business and Trade Tasmania may also use the information for related purposes, or disclose it to third parties in circumstances allowed for by law. You have the right to access your Personal Information by request to Business and Trade Tasmania and you may be charged a fee for this service.

Website use

The event calendar will not be used for any of the following purposes:

  1. To contact You regarding any issue apart from the purpose of the event calendar.
  2. To contact You to offer any services from a 3rd party company.

The event calendar has a number of automated email alerts, including notifications about upcoming events you have shortlisted or may be interested in based on a saved search.
